The Chemical Engineering Department at Universidad de La Frontera was founded on the 1st of September of 1982. The aim is to educate, carry out research and forge a strong relationchip with the industry. The focus being in the areas of physical, chemical and biological processes applied to the rational utilisation of natural resources, the environmental protection and the development of industrial and health applications. In time, the institution has become nationally and internationally reknown.

The department provides all the necessary tools to train the next generations of Engineers.
